All in all The Canfield was a very interesting place to visit! The bar/karaoke lounge on the first floor was fun as well.

The windows in the room opened so that was nice to have the fresh air. It was SO tiny! Water didnt drain well either, but we dealt with it for the weekend just fine. Now the shower/tiolet room.LOL we got a chuckle out of this! You had to stand in the shower to close the door, and step over the toilet to get out of shower.

Kitchenette with fridge and micro, sitting area with loveseat (old and worn) and coffee table, table and two chairs, double bed (uncomfortable and dipped in the middle, but clean and bug free) small tube TV with remote, sink and vanity outside of bathroom. Yes the elevator smelled a bit funky, but it's an old building! Our room was interesting. Minutes walk to casino and interesting sites downtown. It's a no brainer! Hotel location is excellent, great food across the street at the Sunshine Cafe. If you are rude and condescending- you will get attitude back. If you have a complaint about your room kindly explain it to staff and they will deal with it. People- remember if YOU are nice, usually you will get it back. Front desk staff was decent enough, not overly friendly, but not fake-which we like. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and polite and we did not feel threatened or uncomfortable once. Many "long term" residents here- folks down on their luck, out of work, etc. It was one of the cheapest places in town for the weekend. This is an old place with a lot of history. If you appreciate a fun, unique atmosphere with local character you will be just fine. If you are the type that likes spas, fitness centers, turn-down service, etc- the Canfield is NOT for you.

For example, a red Queen, black Jack, and red 10 can all be moved to a black King because the connecting cards (the K and Q) follow the rule that cards are built Down and in Alternating Color. For example, a red 6 may be placed on a black 7.Īll face up cards in any Column are available for movement to another Column as long as the above build rule is followed.

ColumnsĬolumns are built DOWN in ALTERNATING COLOR. Each Foundation in this example must also start with a 3. For example, if a 3 of hearts was dealt to the first Foundation, then the 4 of hearts would be played onto the 3, then the 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K, A, and 2 of hearts. Foundationsįoundations are built UP and IN SUIT starting with the rank of the card dealt to the first Foundation and ending with the rank one less. Only the last card of the Reserve Pile is face up. Finally, 13 cards are dealt to the Reserve Pile. Next, each of the five Columns is dealt one card. Using two decks, a single card is dealt to the first Foundation. The starting Foundation rank changes from game to game. Move all cards to the eight Foundation piles in the same suit.
